IPS or Iron Pipe Size press-fitting systems are physically pressed into a correction onto the pipe, and this produces an impermeable connection or seal. This is the most basic tool on our list but is also an essential that all plumbers need to have in their toolbox. Compared to the other tools on our list, the stubby screwdriver can be a life-saver when a plumber needs a tool to tighten or loosen a screw. Stubby screwdrivers help you to access those hard-to-reach places that a normal or electrical screwdriver can’t access. You can buy stubby screwdrivers that come with multiple Phillips bits and flatheads.

3. Pipe wrenches

No other tool is mainly associated with plumbers other than wrenches. These two are seen in a symbiosis relationship, and the wrench is the plumber’s best friend. No plumbing tool list is complete without the addition of wrenches, but it is important to know that there is no all-purpose wrench, and this is why there are a variety of wrenches on the market. The most known and largest wrench in a plumber’s toolbox is the pipe wrench. Pipe wrenches are used to tighten and loosen nuts and fittings on pipework. They are usually used in association with another pipe wrench, one is used to hold the pipe in place, and the second is used to rotate the nut or fitting in the wanted and appropriate direction. This heavy tool comes in various lengths and sizes.

4. Safety equipment

Plumbing isn’t usually the first thing you think of when someone talks about dangerous jobs, but dressing for the job is essential when you are a plumber. Every experienced plumber will tell you that there are a lot of ways on how to get hurt on the job. First thing first, I’m the realest, but also get your goggles. You’ll need goggles to closely examine leaks, and this can be potentially dangerous for one’s eye; this is why it is essential for you to wear goggles for your own safety. Gloves are a must because they will be touching a lot of things that most of us will be too disgusted to touch with our bare hands. There are a variety of heavy-duty gloves on the market that protect the plumber’s hand and give them a better grip on slippery items. Be careful when are plumbing and be aware of your surrounding.
